From the very beginning, ethics and human connections have been our starting point. We seek to build lasting, long-term relationships with our teams, our workshops and the partners we work with.
Most of us have worked together for more than 10 years, sometimes 15.
We are loyal.
Create, yes. But never alone.
We exchange ideas, we adjust, we move forward together to keep trying to do ever better and go further.
Creativity
We have a taste for beauty and quality. We move forward with the desire to stand out through unique details, artisanal know-how, natural materials and “iconic” creations that are constantly reinvented, guided by our creativity and by the desire to create beautiful, singular and responsible clothes, both ecologically and socially.
Authenticity
We choose to remain 100% free, to move forward without outside pressure, without investors, and without goals that don't suit us. This allows us to stay true to who we are, in our choices as well as in our pace.
We take the time to do things, at our own scale.
We work with people we choose with our hearts, and with whom the relationship is simple and genuine.
We don't seek to do more, but to do right, with sincerity, curiosity, and sometimes a little touch of madness (always well measured, of course).
Poetry
We celebrate the poetry of everyday life: emotive prints, words, colours that make us smile and the memories that inspire us. Through our collections, we love to tell stories and keep artisanal know-how alive, through embroidery, crafted details and gestures that make each creation unique. We nod to songs, to poems and to the culture that is dear to us. All these little things give our clothes a soul and bring about lovely emotions.
The style studio
It is in Paris, in the vibrant heart of the 10th arrondissement, that everything begins. There, in a joyful ballet of designers and pattern makers, the collections come to life, gently, patiently, almost as if by magic.
Silhouettes are drawn. Prints are born, often in watercolour, embroideries tell their stories, measurements are adjusted to the millimetre. Prototypes arrive; we observe them, correct them, perfect them. Then come the collections, which we refine still further, size after size, detail after detail, until we find the right balance.
Creating a collection is a bit like assembling a puzzle without ever having the final picture in front of you. Each piece is chosen separately — a colour, a material, a shape, a print, an embroidery — with intuition and rigour. And it is only at the very end that everything comes together.
Sometimes the surprise is lovely. Sometimes it is… a little less so. But that is also the charm of creation: an adventure made of creativity, instinct, patience, and a few pleasant surprises.
Our company
We are an independent company, driven by a team of around twenty people, 18 of them women — at Emile et Ida, we like to say we have reversed the gender balance.
The adventure began in 2008. It took us a little time to lay solid foundations, and it was in 2010 that our first collection saw the light of day.
The offices
Today, we have settled in Paris, on rue d'Enghien, in a place that deeply suits us. A former watchmaking workshop, steeped in history, which we renovated with great care and heart.
We preserved the soul of the place, blending old materials with carefully chosen pieces — period doors, cement tiles, a glass roof, large tables around which we love to gather and talk. A bright, lively space, true to our universe.

A caring, simple and lively atmosphere, with a close-knit team where everyone naturally finds their place, driven above all by the desire to do things together. Here, everyone counts, everyone contributes, in their own way.
